Homework 2/8
After reading both assigned texts, Lenses and Theory of Fun, I learned tons of unique ways that different people perceive the concept of game design. In Lenses by Jesse Schell, the author went into more of a literal breakdown of how games are made, and talked about breaking down games into the core basic states, such as playing space, and how the player then interacts within the space, depending on how the space is created/setup. Very in-depth analysis on the though process you might consider when thinking of the environment in which your game will take place. The 2nd text, Theory of Fun had a much more chilled version of game design, and explained things in Layman's terms. To summarize the 2 chapters, they went into detail about how people percieve games, and how games are chunks of puzzles that the player is set on solving. Overall both text's had very unique point of views on Game Design, and I look forward to reading more from both.
